Article level metrics

All metrics are relative. Are 10,000 downloads / year many or few? It would be useful if PLoS could provide statistics of total article metrics (i.e. mean and standard deviation of downloads, citations, etc. for a given period) so that authors can provide P&T committees with a gauge. Also, rate of article acceptance is a measure that is being used by P&T committees. Although a pretty bad metric (like impact factor), it is still a statistic that would be nice to have.
