This is really a nicely written article, and I think it raises some concerns that are fairly universal in science these days. These same issues arise in a slightly different form in my own home research community of Computational Linguistics. I recently wrote a short piece called "Empiricism is not a Matter of Faith", which has a similar theme as this article. I wanted to pass that along, since I think sometimes knowing that other communities are discussing issues like these can help spur some progress or at least debate in our home communities (and I'll surely pass along this article to those who I know will be interested, just as it was passed along to me).
