openDocument format

So, when will we be able to submit papers in openDocument format? It's open, ISO-standardized, XML-based, and well-supported on many platforms. I would expect PLoS to lead the way on this, but as of today it's still DOC or RTF... or LaTeX, but this isn't a solution if some of your co-writers are non-geek biologists.
