Short BiographyManpreet S. Bhatti (37 years, male) received his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and masters in environmental engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, India. He will be finishing his PhD thesis in environmental science and technology on the topic ‘Removal of chromium from wastewater using electrocoagulation’. He is working as Assistant Professor, Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Er. Bhatti has 10 years teaching experience related to wastewater treatment plant design, air pollution control, water treatment and industrial wastewater management. He has published 3 international papers in Journal of Hazardous Materials and Desalination, many feasibility reports for industries and solid waste management plan for Amritsar city with special reference to energy recovery. He is a member of American Chemical Society, Water Environment Federation, USA and received top reviewers in year 2010 by Desalination (Elsevier) journal. He is reviewer of more than 10 international journals. His principle interests are biological wastewater treatment, electrocoagulation, hazardous wastewater treatment, advanced oxidation processes, drinking water treatment, coagulation and flocculation, Waste stabilization ponds and activated sludge process modeling. His other interests are design of experiments (DOE), statistical modeling, artificial neural network modeling, response surface methodology and process optimization.
